The engineer Scarlat employs 90 people. Everybody calls him “the engineer“. Two women cook for the tractorists. In the morning they light two fires under the birch trees, one for the soup, one for the stew. Every day we have lunch with the tractorists, first soup then stew. Cows, chicken and pigs are bred exclusively for these meals.
On 2600 hectares the farm produces hybrid grain seeds for Monsanto and Pioneer.
